Since 1995, Clarks had become brand leader for its maple syrup products in the UK, enjoying a reputation for quality and value. With ambitions to expand their product portfolio in 2013, the challenge for Brandpoint was to connect consumers with the Clarks brand (not just maple syrup) in the whole world of syrups, and create an emotive and competitive positioning.

It was clear to us that there was an opportunity to tell the story of the Clarks Master Syrupeers, to help educate consumers to the syrup's many uses, ‘from pancakes to gammon, ice cream to salmon’, encouraging new usage occasions and experimentation. So we created a 'Clarks It !' rallying cry for the brand to do more with syrup and this in turn influenced
our bold and playful maple leaf 'splat' as a distinctive, simple and own-able brandmark. The brandmark and packaging design have been a sweet success, designed to communicate that maple syrup need not be an expensive treat for pancake day, encouraging the whole family to experiment, 'have a go' and enjoy!
